Quality, Environment and Sustainability Policy

For Benissa Town Council, protecting the environment and the natural surroundings, as well as providing a high-quality service, are fundamental priorities. The Department of the Environment, thanks to the constant efforts of its team, is committed to developing appropriate strategies based on the requirements of the certified Quality and Environment standards UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015, respectively, in the management of Benissa’s beaches, coves and ecological promenade.

> Our mission is to offer quality services to users, satisfying their needs while protecting our coastal environment.

> Our vision is to be a benchmark municipality for its coastal environment, where our goal is continuous improvement in services, facilities, water quality and care for the environment.

> Our values revolve around maintaining the richness of our coastal ecosystem, seeking to achieve beaches that meet the highest quality tandards and sustainability criteria.

The Benissa Town Council defines its own Quality, Environment and Sustainability Policy, which includes the following commitments to improvement:

  • Compliance with current legislation and regulations applicable to the comprehensive management of the Benissa coastline, as well as the quality of its waters and the service provided to citizens and visitors, in order to achieve user satisfaction.
  • Promote the participation of all staff and users in protecting the coastal environment through training and awareness-raising, with an emphasis on information and communication at all levels.
  • Establish a plan of objectives to implement actions aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the framework of local sustainability.
  • Take into account the best technologies available on the market in the definition of improvement objectives, to achieve maximum quality, efficient and responsible services, also including dealer services.
  • Establish improvement tools to address the organisation’s risks and opportunities, and continuously improve the effectiveness of the management system and the organisation’s environmental performance.
  • Prevent pollution by minimising the environmental risks arising from the environmental aspects of the organisation, from a life cycle perspective, taking into account especially the correct management of waste generated on beaches and the sustainable use of resources.
